My fiance is in love

With the new aquarium i bought for him.
We have had a 29 gallon long aquarium for a few months now. More like six months. And we started out with a little bucket with two 2"long turtles in it. Then it turned into a ten gallon tank, then a 29 long and NOW a 29gl long AND a 20gl. He loves it and so do it. In the 29gl long, we have it filled about 3/4 of the way with some awesome natural decor so it looks like your are looking right into a river bed with plants and drift wood and all sorts of neat stuff.

When we started out with the bigger fish tank, we had the 2 little turtles, 2 plecos, a blue lobster, some loaches, 3 tetras, a newt, a fiddler crab, a koi, and armored catfish and some gold fish. All live harmoniously in this awesome little ecosystem. That is until the turtles turned into viscous fish eating machines. They picked on everyone until just about everyone except the plecos, the lobster, and the armored cat fish was dead. We saved the koi when we got the new 20gl tank.

We are by no means aquarium geniuses. We are learning as we go. We got sick of just looking at the two turtles in the huge tank by themselves so we added a big ol' Oscar fish who we names Steve. I like Steve, he's pretty cool looking. Almost so big, you wanna pet him. He picks on the red eared sliders which is funny. Occasionally, you'll see Steve so to swallow a turtle's head or foot, obviously he doesnt, and it doesnt hurt the turtles one bit.. but it is funny, and the turtles deserve it - they're quite the bullies.

So we have this new 20gal. tank that i bought for my fiance for his birthday. In this tank we have
3 clown loaches
1 giant pleco
1 koi
1 chinese hifin shark
2 gouramis
2 african cichlids
1 ghost knife
2 snails
1 big goldfish
1 betta fish
1 figure eight puffer

My favorite is the puffer. I call him fluffy VonPufferbutt. Yes.. thats his name. Our tank sounds full but it is not crowded, we made sure to get some bottom feeders, some mid levels, and some surface fish. So it's not as crowded as you might think.
We also have a few snails in there, mainly for puffer food, but some survive, and some guppies - again food for the puffer and ghost knife.

Our tanks have been through a lot. and these are the stories.
